Jérôme Galaup is the fourth generation and has brought new energy to the tradition since taking over the estate in 2017. Prior to that, he refined his skills at the Plageoles estate.
Located on the edge of the Grésigne forest in the Tarn region, “La Ferme du Vert” (The Green Farm) reflects a blend of deep-rooted heritage and modern spirit. Here, Jérôme cultivates native Gaillac grape varieties, producing wines that are a true expression of the historic terroir. His blend of traditional farming wisdom and innovative winemaking results in distinctive wines that captivate and impress.
La Ferme du Vert is a 60 hectare polyculture farm: 6.4 hectares are devoted to vines (2.9h mauzac vert, 1.3h muscadelle, 1h duras, 0.6h braucol, 0.6h prunelard). The other 50.6 hectares are devoted to 27 cows (he sells the veal meat to local markets & some Parisian restaurants); hay fields to feed his cows and to sell to local farmers; 5h of old forgotten varieties of cereals, i.e., einkorn & rye which he uses to feed his family and also sells to a local miller & bread baker and finally 16h of forest land for wood.
