Charlevoix, Quebec, Canada
Fermented from wheat and rye grown on L’Isle-aux-Coudres and then twice distilled. Local botanicals are then added during the third distillation, which really highlights the Charlevoix essence of the final product. The saltiness of the glasswort provides a nice balance to the woody, citrus notes. Rounded out by a peppery, floral finish reminiscent of the refreshing breeze so familiar to the area.
Menaud is a pioneering distillery and brewery in Charlevoix, Quebec, founded by five friends who celebrate their region's terroir by creating "grain-to-bottle" spirits using locally sourced ingredients like wheat, rye, and wild botanicals. They are inspired by nature, craftsmanship, and environmental conservation. Named after a famous local novel, Menaud focuses on artisanal production, unique flavors reflecting the northern landscape (salty, floral, woodsy), innovative dark glass bottles inspired by the St. Lawrence River, and strong community ties with local farmers.
