Ak Zanj, Haitian Dark Rum Agricole 750ml

Aged Agricole rum (aka Clairin) from Haiti. Clairin uses single-varietal fresh sugar cane instead of molasses. Ak Zanj translates from Haitian Creole to ‘With Angels’ and is a nod to the evaporated spirit stolen by thirsty angels during aging.

Family-run in Port-au-Prince since 1862. Distilled from low-yield sugarcane varietal “Madame Mueze” in a 60-plus-year-old Creole Column still. Aged in ex-Cognac casks for 3–7 years. Deliciously dry with hints of honey, candied fruit, hazelnut, and cinnamon. 43% ABV
