The Cotes Catalan is a warm coastal area in southern France. These vineyards are located minutes from the Spanish border. The counterpart to Yoyo wines! Jean-Francois Nicq is the significant other of Yoyo (Laurence Manya Krief). 

Jean-François bought the property with his childhood friend, Bijan Mohamadi, an Iranian-French mathematics professor. The estate name pays tribute to the Gauche prolétarienne activism of their youth and to a neorealist political book from leftist French author Frédéric H. Fajardie. The label reads “grenache” in Persian.
