Sybille Kuntz is a pioneering Mosel winemaker whose family has been involved in the wine trade for centuries. Based in Lieser, Germany, she began producing her own Riesling in 1984, initially working with a small parcel of family vineyards. Determined to show the full potential of Mosel Riesling, Kuntz developed a style that emphasizes dry, structured wines rather than the sweeter expressions traditionally associated with the region.

Her vineyards sit on the steep, blue-slate slopes of the Mosel, including the renowned Niederberg-Helden site. She has farmed organically since 1990, achieved organic certification in 2013, and received Demeter biodynamic certification in 2016. Working alongside her husband, Markus Riedlin, Kuntz focuses on Riesling that expresses the region's distinctive minerality, freshness, and sense of place.
